What Albelys is
A cosmetic skincare accessory that produces light at four wavelengths — 525 nm green, 590 nm amber, 660 nm red and 850 nm near-infrared. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or skin condition.
Eye safety
The mask leaves the eye openings clear and no separate eye protection is supplied. You may keep your eyes open during a session, but do not stare directly into the lit panel. Do not use the device on children. Discontinue immediately and consult an eye-care professional if you experience persistent visual disturbance.
Do not use if
— You are pregnant
— You take photosensitising medications (some antibiotics, retinoids, isotretinoin, certain anti-inflammatories)
— You have active or untreated skin cancer or melanoma
— You have a history of seizures or photosensitive epilepsy
— You have an active rash, infection, or open wound on the area to be treated
— You are under 18
When in doubt, consult a healthcare professional before use.
How to use
On clean, dry skin — no serum underneath, it blocks the light. Choose a mode and a session length on the controller: 5, 10 or 15 minutes. We recommend 10. Use it 3–5 evenings a week. More is not better: the response to light levels off and then falls away again, so a longer session is not a stronger one. Full instructions are in the user manual in the box.
Cleaning
Wipe the silicone with a soft damp cloth and mild soap. Do not submerge. Do not use alcohol on the silicone.
If you experience side effects
Discontinue immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Possible reactions include redness, dryness, or temporary sensitivity, especially in the first weeks. Persistent or worsening reactions are not normal.
Disposal
End-of-life devices should be returned to a Swiss SENS collection point — electrical devices must not go in household waste. Email hello@albelys.ch and we will take it back.
Conformity and testing
The device is CE marked by its manufacturer. We hold the underlying third-party test reports on file, all issued in June 2025:
— Electrical safety, tested to IEC 60335-1:2020, the general safety standard for household electrical appliances. A 116-page report.
— Electromagnetic compatibility under Directive 2014/30/EU, tested to EN IEC 55014-1:2021, EN IEC 55014-2:2021, EN IEC 61000-3-2 and EN 61000-3-3.
— Restricted substances under the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU as amended by (EU) 2015/863, tested to the IEC 62321 series.
The lithium cell carries its own IEC 62133-2 test report.
We are also telling you what is NOT covered. None of these is a photobiological safety assessment. EN/IEC 62471 — the lamp-safety standard for light shone toward a face and eyes — has not been carried out on this device; the clauses referencing it in the electrical safety report are marked not applicable. We have asked the manufacturer for it, along with measured irradiance figures and a signed EU Declaration of Conformity, and we will publish them here when they arrive.
Until then we will not put a general "safety certified" badge on this website, because we would not be able to point at the paper behind it. Ask us for a copy of any report we hold and we will send it.
