Albelys Mask

328 lamp beads set into flexible silicone that follows the contours of the face. Two of its wavelengths are the ones the research keeps returning to — 660 nm deep red and 850 nm near-infrared, the second of which you cannot see at all. Ten-minute cycle, rechargeable, eye openings left clear. Sit down, close your eyes, let it run.

Ritual

After cleansing, on dry skin — no serum underneath, it blocks the light. Three to five evenings a week, ten minutes each. Most people notice a change in texture somewhere around week four; feeling nothing in week one is entirely normal.

What it does

Four lights, for four ways your skin can look.

Mode 01 · 525 nm

Calm

Green, for skin that flushes easily. The quiet mode — it softens the look of redness after sport, sun, or a long day.

Mode 02 · 590 nm

Brighten

Amber, for a complexion that looks tired or uneven. Ten minutes of soft focus for the evenings when your skin looks dull.

Mode 03 · 660 nm

Renew

The classic deep red — the wavelength this whole category is named after. Skin looks smoother, rested, more even.

Mode 04 · 660 + 850 nm

Firm

Deep red joined by near-infrared you cannot see. The deepest-reaching light the mask produces — for skin that looks firmer and more supple.

How it works

Two wavelengths the research keeps returning to.

Red light at 660 nm and near-infrared at 850 nm are the two wavelengths most studied for the look of skin. Salons and dermatology practices have worked with them for decades; the mask brings the same two colours home.

Ten minutes, three evenings a week, on clean skin. The light does its work while you sit — there is nothing to rub in and nothing to wait for.

What you can expect is what this light is known for: skin that looks smoother, more even and rested over the weeks. We do not promise more than that, and we publish the numbers behind it.

Ten minutes, wherever the evening is

No salon. No appointment. Just the light.

A sofa and a dimmed lamp are enough. Set the mode on the controller, put it down, and let the ten minutes run — hands free, eyes open, phone in hand if you like.

Before you decide

The four things people ask before they buy.

  1. 01 / 04

Is it safe for my eyes?

The eye area is left open, with a shield behind the slot, and we ask you to keep your eyes closed during a session. We also tell you plainly which safety tests this device has passed and which have not yet been done.

    What has been tested
  2. 02 / 04

    Will I actually use it?

It is ten minutes, sitting down, three evenings a week. No wall cord, no app. Choose a mode on the controller, put it down, and the mask switches itself off when the time is up.

  3. 03 / 04

    Is this real, or marketing?

We publish the irradiance, the dose per session and the test reports we hold — the numbers most masks leave out. Where a figure has not been measured, we say so instead of rounding up.

Why this one and not another?

Compare for yourself. The table below sets our published numbers beside seven of the leading masks, including where they match us and where they do not.

Right-hand column: the seven best-known LED masks sold in Switzerland — Therabody (2), CurrentBody, Omnilux, Dr Dennis Gross, Foreo and Shark — using the figures on their own product pages in September 2026, list prices converted to francs and rounded. Where a brand does not state a figure we say so; we have not measured their devices. The mask pictured is a generic illustration of a rigid-shell mask, not any particular brand. Irradiance figures are not comparable between brands: the number depends on the distance it was measured at, which mode was running, and whether a brand adds its colour modes together — which is why we state our method next to ours.

Measured spectrum

The wavelength doing the most work is invisible.

Everything past 700 nm sits outside human sight. Near-infrared doesn't photograph and doesn't demo on video — which is why cheaper masks often leave it out and add more colours you can see instead.

Session

Dose = irradiance × time. It's the number that matters in the literature, and almost nobody in this category publishes it. More is not better — photobiomodulation has an effective window, not a linear curve.

One word on comparing: irradiance figures from different brands cannot be put side by side. The number depends on the distance it was measured at, which mode was running, and whether a brand adds its colour modes together. Ours is a single spectrometer reading of the red plus near-infrared mode, taken at the LED surface.

WHY TEN MINUTES

A longer session is not a better one.

Light doses behave in a curve, not a straight line. Response climbs, levels off, and past a point begins to fall away again — which is why the literature describes an effective window rather than “more is better”. Ten minutes puts you on the plateau of that curve. Fifteen stays on it — a little more, not a lot more.

When in doubt, consult a healthcare professional. Albelys is a cosmetic skincare accessory, not a medical device.

Before you decide

The questions people ask us most.

All questions and answers
  • No. Albelys is a cosmetic skincare accessory. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Albelys is CE marked and we hold third-party test reports for it, like any cosmetic device. Medical light therapy is a different category: devices assessed under the EU Medical Device Regulation and registered with Swissmedic, used by dermatologists in clinical settings.

  • Three to five evenings a week, ten minutes per session. Effects in the literature appear gradually after several weeks of consistent use. Less is fine; more is not necessarily better.

  • The eye openings are left clear, so you can keep your eyes open — most people read or look at their phone while the mask runs. Just don't stare directly into the lit panel. No separate goggles are included, and none are needed: the light is non-ionising and contains no UV. If you have an eye condition, or take medication that makes you sensitive to light, ask your doctor first.

  • Yes — an unopened device with its hygiene seal intact can be returned within 14 days of delivery for a full refund. Email us with your order number and we confirm the return address; you pay return postage. Once the seal is broken we cannot resell a mask that is worn on the face, so opened devices cannot be returned for change of mind. A faulty device is always replaced at our cost.

  • Three to five working days, and delivery is free — it is included in the price, with no minimum order. Every order is packed by hand in Switzerland and sent with Swiss Post; we hold the stock ourselves rather than forwarding your order to a factory abroad.

  • The price you see is the price you pay, Swiss VAT included. Because your order ships domestically from our own stock in Switzerland, it never crosses a border on its way to you — there is no customs clearance and no import bill at the door.
